Three Things Thursday

20 May

1. I got a new treadmill at HOME! I’ve wanted one for such a long time…just for those days when the weather is gross or I don’t have time to drive to the gym. I tested it out today with a 7-mile run…its awesome ;)

2. I went to my first Spin class in forEVER at my hometown gym last night. Saw some of my favorite people too…I’m so glad to be home and working out at my favorite gym!

3. I’ve been really, really relaxed (i.e. lazy) this week…minus hitting the gym, appointments, doing fun things and stopping at Starbucks for iced coffee. Ha. I guess my excuse is I’m living it up before I start working???

Three Things Thursday

1. FOUR DAYS. That’s how many days of class I have left of undergrad…forever. Can’t believe how quickly this semester went by and how soon graduation is! I feel like high school graduation was not long ago, but here I am about to graduate from college…well, an entire year early…so that might be why it feels so soon!

2. In five short days, the boy will be here with me….for 1.5 weeks until after Graduation Day when I get to go HOME! So excited for summer…looks like its going to be a great one :)

3. I just applied to a law school close to home…as in, I could commute to class every day. (Yeah, I’ve already been accepted and sent in my first deposit to another school.) My mom wanted me to at least apply, because apparently the school has a good reputation (which I’m still iffy about) and because in the long run, it would be cheaper. It actually would be nice to not be in as much debt, and after spending too many semesters 5 hours away from home, I’m actually not sure I want to move away from home again in the Fall. I always thought I’d be adventurous…and I still want to be sometimes, but the reality of it is, I’m from a small town and will probably never leave. I’ll travel a lot, and likely commute 45 minutes to my future job, but I just feel like home is where the heart is. Cliche, I know. But so true :)

1. I just went out for a 5-mile run…I was concerned about running after the ER fiasco in the middle of Tuesday night. But I also know that exercise makes me feel better, so I went for it. And I was aiming to drop my pace and take it easy but I started out at a 8:00 pace and maintained it throughout the run pretty effortlessly. Guess taking a day off from exercise makes you feel excellent the next day? :)

2. I’m going to see Kenny Chesney: Summer in 3D tonight with the boy. So excited. I’m totally in love with Kenny…and surprisingly the boy isn’t offended by that fact…even though I openly talk about my infatuation with KC. Or at least he doesn’t show that he’s offended. Reason #4844348 why he’s so great ;)

3. Since I’ve been home, it feels like its summer break already…even though there’s still 3 weeks to go until I’ll be living at home again. I think it has a lot to do with the gorgeous weather, my parents awesome garden, and all the grass and trees being so green. Speaking of green, Happy Earth Day! :)

Three Things Thursday

8 Apr

1. Tomorrow is Relay for Life here at my university (we’re still defending our rank of #1 collegiate Relay in the nation!)…I’m so pumped! Its the second year I’ve been involved in the planning and actual carrying-out of the event and its always a great time. My family will be getting here early tomorrow afternoon to set up our team’s campsite. I’m so grateful that my Aunt is going to be here in the midst of Relay and see what its all about…she was diagnosed with cancer in 2008 and has gotten better but is not completely cancer-free yet. Ever since I started participating in Relay for Life, it was always in honor of my Aunt, and I know tomorrow is going to be an amazing day :)

2. I’m still so excited about running NYC! I LOVE the City and I know that running 26.2 through NYC is going to be amazing…it’ll be a great experience and I am counting down the days ;)

3. Speaking of counting down the days, my last day of classes is in 26 days…and graduation is in 36 days! So excited :)

25 Mar

1. This week has been. so. busy. You better believe I took tonight to relax and rest up for the busy weekend-week-month ahead…haha. Its pretty much never-ending until graduation…May 15th here I come ;)

2. That said…I’m still making the brilliant decision to go home Easter weekend. I have ALWAYS gone home Easter weekend since I’ve been away at college, so I figure why break that tradition? ;) Plus I’m running a 5k with the boy & one of our good friends that my boyfriend converted into a runner/regular gym-goer. Yes, MY boyfriend did that…the one who complains about running but is doing this 5k for the 2nd year in a row! Ha ha…before he knows it, I’ll having him running marathons ;)

3. One of my best friends has been studying abroad in France this entire school year! Yes, I’ve been totally jealous!!! But she is backpacking Europe/Asia this summer and I would LOVE to tag along…but somehow I would have to come up with $$$ that I don’t have. If anyone has any brilliant ideas that make money (yes anything…I’m pretty desperate…ha ha KIDDING!) do share…

1. TOMORROW…Spring Break begins :) I’m leaving bright and early in the morning to make the 5-hour drive home. I am sooooo excited…in fact I’ve been pretty high on life today ;) I just love home, family, the boy, my dog, my friends….for a whole week. Ahh :)

2. I am officially 9 days away from being the big 2-1. Wow time flies…I feel like I should still be in high school, and yet I’ll be graduating from college in 2.5 months! I’m going to The Melting Pot for my 21st birthday dinner…and I’m still in search of the best mojito in Hampton Roads. Because I will definitely be finding it March 13th. haha :)

3. My university has a really big Relay for Life every year (we had the #1 collegiate event last year!), and I’ve participated every year since I’ve been in school here. I had so much fun the first year that I signed up to be on the Executive Planning Committee last year and I’m on the Relay Staff this year. I just love love love it, and its for such a good cause. I relay in honor of my Aunt Nancy, who was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer in 2008. She is still fighting it, but is doing better. I’m so glad that she’s participating this year…and I’m so grateful for family & friends that have been donating and helping my fundraising efforts. Its such a good feeling to know we’re all helping out the American Cancer Society. Do you Relay???
